CupCakery first opened its doors in 2006. Melanie Asher, our master baker had found an old art gallery for rent in Manhattan. The location was great, but it required a lot of money to refit and set up a working kitchen. Melanie went to her local bank and persuaded the manager to lend her money, something she says would never work out in the same way these days.
We pride ourselves on creating the freshest and finest special occasion cakes. Our pastry chefs follow recipes that have been refined throughout the years. Our mission is to offer the highest quality in taste and design to our customers. Our special care and attention to detail in creating exclusive desserts has led to a loyal following with New York City’s top businesses and an ever-expanding private clientele.

Melanie ices up a cake as smooth as glass, applies fondant with precision, creates intricate wedding cake designs, and makes the most beautiful white chocolate flowers you’ve ever seen! Her beautiful and delicious cakes are inspired by fashion, architecture, nature and modern art. Melanie is a perfectionist, a very hard worker, and is loved and respected by all our Team.
